Registering for 2021

The Environmental Science Program is open to students who will be entering grades 7, 8, 9, or 10 in September 2021.

 
Update, 03/11/21: The Program has reached its capacity limit, so we have started a waiting list. 

The online registration page may still allow payments. Until that has been changed, we will notify you by email if you have been placed on the waiting list after a payment. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

If you would like to be on the waiting list, contact us by email and send us your name, your student's name, and the best way for us to reach you. Also include this registration form and send it in WITHOUT payment to contact@newtonenvisci.org or to

You do not need to fill out the forms below in order to be placed on the waiting list.

 


In order for your student to participate in the Program, you must also provide the following forms AND a doctor's exam sheet (dated within past 2 years):

1. Consent Form/Release from Liability (1 page);
2. Photo/Video Release Form (1 page);
3. Immunization Record (Staff & Students under 18) + Special Activities Permission Form (3 pages); and
4. Authorization to Administer Medication to a Camper Form (1 page).

You can download these forms from the Forms Page here. The completed forms can be scanned and uploaded with your online registration or mailed to David Backer, Co-Executive Director, Environmental Science Program, P.O. Box 600292, Newton, MA 02460.

Note also that as we learn more about the management of the COVID-19 pandemic, there may be additional requirements for your child to participate in the Program. We will communicate about these requirements as soon as possible.

Financial Aid

Financial aid is available in the form of partial scholarships donated by the Newton Conservators, Inc., Green Newton, and other organizations and individuals (see our Supporters Page). Aid will be awarded based on need and availability. This program must comply with the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the City of Newton Health Department. Parents or guardians have the right to review background checks of all leaders and staff, as required by applicable law. Contact Human Resources Department, City of Newton, 617-796-1260.
